The story behind Book on Tape starts with our Painted Lights EP. Released in late 2016, Painted Lights was meticulously recorded piece by piece, then fused together to create what's heard on the EP. After playing a number of shows, it was clear that the songs took on a new life when played live. We wanted to capture the visceral nature of our live set and felt that a live recording was the best way to reintroduce our older songs in a new light and usher in a few new tracks that we've been incorporating in to our shows. With a title that naturally fits the format, Book on Tape is a decidedly imperfect offering to our live sound.
